Ghaziabad Schools For Classes Up To 8 To Remain Close Till Jan 11 Due To Severe Cold
Severe cold weather conditions have shut all schools up to class 8 in Ghaziabad for a week.
Due to the severe cold weather conditions, Ghaziabad school upto classes 8 will remain closed from January 6 to January 11. The order was issued by the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) in light of the severe cold wave.

“In view of the extreme cold, following the instructions given by the District Magistrate of Ghaziabad, all government and private schools, including Inter Colleges (both government and non-government, unaided, and aided schools) affiliated with UP, CBSE, ICSE, and other boards in Ghaziabad district will remain completely closed from January 6, 2025, to January 11, 2025. Additionally, classes for students in grade 9 and above will not be conducted before 9:00 AM," said Dr Dharmendra Sharma, District Inspector of Schools in a notice.
“The Principals/Headmasters of all government and private schools, including Inter Colleges, affiliated with UP, CBSE, ICSE, and other boards, are instructed to strictly ensure compliance with this order," the DIOS added.
Earlier, the Jharkhand government announced the closure of schools from January 7-13 in view of a cold wave sweeping the eastern state. A notice from the School Education and Literacy Department on Saturday confirmed that all schools, including government, private, and minority institutions, will remain closed due to the cold weather.
Delhi has been going through intense cold waves and dense fog blanketed over the past few days. In the NCR with Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Gurugram and Faridabad and adjoining areas in Haryana experiencing similar conditions.
Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe cold these days. The icy winds coming from the mountainous regions have people shivering. Several cities in Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital, are experiencing lower daytime temperatures due to overcast skies and fog from moisture originating from the Arabian Sea. The weather in the state has been generally dry, with some areas feeling cold during the day and a few experiencing very cold temperatures.
