Gautam Gambhir Gets Death Threat From 'ISIS-Kashmir' Again

Former BJP MP and current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, has received a death threat from 'ISIS Kashmir'. He has filed a formal complaint with the Delhi Police.

Former BJP MP and current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, has received a death threat from 'ISIS-Kashmir'. On Wednesday, he approached the Delhi Police, filing a formal complaint for an FIR and seeking measures to safeguard his family’s security, Gambhir's office was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

This is not the first time that Gambhir has received threats from 'ISIS Kashmir'. 'ISIS Kashmir' sent at least two threat emails to Gambhir in 2021, when he was an MP.

The threat comes immediately after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 Indians. Gambhir was among the sporting personalities who slammed the dastardly terrorist attack. He said: "Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike."

Gambhir submitted his complaint to the Rajinder Nagar Police Station. In his complaint, he said that he had received two emails, both reading: "IKillU".

Notably, ISIS Jammu & Kashmir, or Islamic State in Jammu & Kashmir, was a terror organisation in the Union Territory that was active till 2019. It was not recognised by the IS. Not much is known about 'ISIS-Kashmir', though.
