Protest At Delhi School After Foreign National Student 'Molests' 5-Year-Old Girl, Parents Allege Inaction

The parents alleged that the school did not take any action against the accused and advised them to change their daughter's school.

A protest erupted outside a private school in the national capital on Friday after a five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a foreign national student.

The parents of the girl alleged that their daughter was sexually assaulted by her senior who is a foreign national, but the police did not apprehend him even after five months of the incident.

On Friday, scores of people gathered outside the school and demanded strict action against the accused.

According to a PTI report, quoting sources, the incident took place in August last year and a FIR was lodged the next month under section 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The incident came to the fore on September 16 last year after the child confided in her parents using concerning language that prompted their inquiries, the report added.

The girl's parents reported the incident to the school principal and subsequently got a police complaint filed on September 18.

As per the complaint, the child said she was inappropriately touched by a boy, whom she had seen on the bus.

Her parents also reported that the child sustained injuries in the assault and has been severely traumatised by the incident, undergoing medical tests and questioning.

The parents of the victim stated in the FIR that their daughter complained of frequent urination along with pain in the same area. "It continued for a few more weeks. A boy caused injuries to her private parts. She saw him twice while travelling by bus from school," the FIR stated.

The parents have also alleged that school did not take action on their complaint and that they were advised to change their daughter's school.
