IMD Issues Orange Alert For Delhi
Owing to the heavy rain, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'orange' alert for the city for Friday, advising residents to "be prepared" for extremely bad weather. With this alert, the weather department warned of possible disruptions in transport, including rail, road, and air travel, as well as potential power outages.
The IMD said that a depression, which originated over central India, is likely to bring 'heavy' to 'extremely heavy' rainfall in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, parts of Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh over the next two days.
Meanwhile, the downpour throughout the night and early on Friday morning resulted in waterlogging at several places. The waterlogging hit traffic and caused snarls on several stretches.
