Boy, Girl Found Hanging From Tree In Hauz Khas's Deer Park

The bodies of a boy and a girl aged around 17 were found hanging from a tree in Deer Park in Hauz Khas on Sunday. The initial investigation indicates it to be a suicide, the Delhi Police said.

The park security guard, Baljit Singh, informed the police at 6.31 am today. "Police staff reached the spot and found that a boy and a girl, aged about 17 years, hanged themselves with the common nylon rope on a branch of a tree," the police said.

The boy was dressed in a black T-shirt and blue jeans, while the girl was wearing a green dress, PTI reported quoting police. Investigators are trying to ascertain the identities of the deceased and the circumstances leading to the incident, an official said, adding no suicide note has been recovered so far.

Officials are examining CCTV footage and further investigation is underway, police added. The crime team was called for inspection and bodies have been shifted to the mortuary.
