Saif Ali Khan Attack A Burglary Gone Wrong, Police Identify Suspect

Initially, the Mumbai Police had not entertained the burglary angle as part of the preliminary theory, while Kareena Kapoor's statement had asserted it was a burglary.

The investigation into the high-profile attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra home has made significant progress, with the case nearing a resolution less than 24 hours after the incident. Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gedam Dixit, speaking to reporters on Thursday, confirmed that it was a burglary attempt gone wrong. Initially, the Mumbai Police had not entertained the burglary angle as part of the preliminary theory, while Kareena Kapoor's statement had asserted it was a burglary.

DCP Gedam Dixit said, "One of the attackers has been identified," and added, "The attacker escaped through the staircase."

"We working to arrest the accused. 10 Detection teams are working on the case. An offence has been registered in Bandra Police Station," Gedam Dixit, DCP Zone 9, Mumbai Police said.

The attacker escaped through the stairs, but he entered after he scaled the compound walls, as per the police.

Saif Ali Khan Latest Health Update  

Saif Ali Khan sustained a major injury to his thoracic spinal cord in the early hours of Thursday, according to authorities at Lilavati Hospital. A knife had lodged in his spine, causing spinal fluid to leak.  

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said, "A surgery was necessary to remove the knife and repair the leakage of spinal fluid. Additionally, two other deep wounds, one on his left hand and another on his neck were treated by the plastic surgery team."
