Man Kills Chhattisgarh Cop's Wife, Daughter In Surajpur, Angry Mob Thrashes SDM, Torches Accused's House
The murders occurred after the accused, Kuldeep Sahu, believed to be a Congress leader, threw hot oil on one of the constables who was deployed at a procession of Durga idol immersion on Sunday.
Tension has erupted in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur after a history sheeter allegedly killed a policeman's wife and daughter. The criminal also tried to crush the head constable Talib Sheikh under a vehicle and threw hot oil on his colleague in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur district.
The bodies of head constable Talib Sheikh's wife, Mehnaaz (35) and daughter, Aliya (11), were found on the outskirts of Pidha village, 4 km from their home in the City Kotwali police station limits on Monday, the police said.
The murders occurred after the accused, Kuldeep Sahu, threw hot oil on one of the constables who was deployed at a procession of Durga idol immersion on Sunday night.
Surajpur Superintendent of Police M.R. Ahire said that when the police personnel, including Talib Sheikh, were on duty, Kuldeep Sahu poured boiling oil on one of our constables while he was trying to track him down.
The accused also allegedly tried to run over Sheikh and other police personnel with a four-wheeler when they arrived at the scene to catch him for the oil attack, and he managed to escape, the police said.

When Sheikh returned home after duty, he found the door broken and his wife and daughter missing. He alerted the police when he saw blood stains inside the house, and a search was launched. The bodies of the two were found on Monday morning.
"After completing their duties, Head Constable Ghalib Sheikh went to his rented house, only to find the door broken and the entire room covered in blood. His wife and daughter, who lived there, were both missing. Fearing the worst, we immediately launched an investigation," the SP added.
The official said that prima facie reveals that the accused attacked the mother-daughter duo with a sharp weapon and killed them.
Meanwhile, an angry mob vandalised and set Kuldeep Sahu's house on fire following the incident. The mob also allegedly thrashed the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) after which the senior official and police personnel had to flee the spot.
Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers to prevent any untoward situation in the city.
