‘Not Me’: Man Flags Misuse Of His Photos After Chennai Techie Shares Custody Battle, Threatens Complaint
A man flagged concerns about his photos being mistakenly used in social media discussions of the ongoing legal battle shared by Chennai techie Prasanna Sankar.
A man named Anoop K M on Tuesday raised concerns over the wrongful circulation of his photographs on social media, mistakenly linking him to the ongoing legal dispute involving tech entrepreneur Prasanna Sankar and his estranged wife, Dhivya Sashidhar.
In a message to Prasanna, Anoop wrote, “Respected sir, you should share the images of the actual persons involved with your tragedy. My photos are being shared on social media because my name is Anoop and I am married to Roshna. It is requested to share that the images are not actual, else a police complaint shall be filed.”

Prasanna’s Allegations Against Chennai Police
This comes as Prasanna, the co-founder of HR-tech startup Rippling, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to allege harassment by the Chennai police. He claimed that after his estranged wife accused him of “kidnapping” their son, the police began tracking his location, car, UPI transactions, and IP address without an FIR.
He also accused the police of detaining his friend, Gokul, without a warrant. “Last 3 days he is in custody without any FIR. They are telling him if I don’t surrender, he’d be harassed,” Prasanna alleged. He further claimed that the police had demanded ₹25 lakh for Gokul’s release.
“The Thirumangalam, Chennai police station is harassing me for money knowing that I’m a successful founder. The AC and the SI have asked me for ₹25 lakh to release my friend who has been in custody,” he wrote.
A senior Chennai police official has denied these allegations, calling them “baseless,” as per NDTV.
The dispute between Prasanna and his wife, Dhivya, has been ongoing for months. Prasanna alleged that after discovering his wife’s extramarital affair, they began divorce proceedings. He claimed that Dhivya, unhappy with the financial settlement, filed false domestic violence and rape charges against him.
“She decided to instead file a fake police complaint against me saying I hit her. Later, she made further fake complaints that I raped her (one month after the alleged rape), that I circulated her nude videos, etc. Singapore police have investigated these allegations, found them baseless, and have cleared me from all charges,” Prasanna wrote.
He further alleged that Dhivya had “abducted” their son to the US, prompting a legal battle where a US court ruled in his favour. The court facilitated a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), under which Prasanna agreed to pay Dhivya ₹9 crore and ₹4.3 lakh per month while sharing joint custody of their son.
However, tensions escalated when Dhivya allegedly refused to comply with the MoU, particularly regarding the child’s passport being deposited in a shared locker. “She started claiming that the MoU is not valid and she wants more and will go to the US again to file a divorce,” Prasanna said.
Dhivya’s Allegations Against Prasanna
According to local media reports cited by NDTV, Dhivya accused Prasanna of forcibly taking their son away from her and never returning him. “We returned to India and I thought at least now my son and I could live peacefully, but he is not allowing that too,” she reportedly said.
She also alleged that Prasanna had secretly recorded women and had been arrested in Singapore for it. Additionally, she accused him of transferring matrimonial assets to his father’s name to evade taxes, which were later moved to his brother in Thailand. She further claimed that Prasanna “threatened” her into signing documents that prevented her from reporting tax crimes in the US.
Amid the controversy, Prasanna later shared an update stating that the situation had been resolved. “We have peace,” he wrote on X, adding that Chennai’s Police Commissioner assured him there would be no arrests and that investigations into the allegations against him would continue.
“My dad is returning back to his home. I’m getting back to doing productive work,” he said. Prasanna also confirmed that his friend Gokul had been released and was no longer required to report to the police station daily.
To counter Dhivya’s allegations, Prasanna posted screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation from 3 March, which he claimed proved that Dhivya had voluntarily handed over their son. “Here’s evidence of voluntary hand-over. She’s somehow now claiming it was ‘forced’,” he wrote.
As the legal dispute unfolds, the case has drawn significant attention on social media, leading to wrong circulation of Anoop K M's photos.
