The incident triggered panic among the large crowd gathered at the temple, following which police and administrative officials stepped in to control the situation.
The stampede occurred amid a heavy rush of devotees who had gathered at the temple to offer prayers on the final Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Several devotees were reportedly injured in the incident.
Following the chaos, police and administrative personnel present at the spot moved in to manage the crowd and helped devotees exit the area safely.
