Bengaluru Man Promises Girlfriend Goa Wedding, Dream Trip Ends In Murder

Bengaluru man allegedly kills girlfriend in Goa during trip to get married. Body found in forest; police arrest accused within 24 hours of gruesome discovery.

In a chilling turn of events, a 22-year-old man from Bengaluru has been arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend during a trip to Goa that was supposed to culminate in marriage. Instead, it ended in tragedy when the woman’s body was found dumped in a forested area of South Goa.

The accused, identified as Sanjay Kevin M, a resident of North Bengaluru, reportedly traveled to Goa with his partner, Roshni Moses M, also 22, with the intention of tying the knot. However, a bitter dispute between the two escalated fatally.

According to South Goa police, the couple had arrived in the coastal state just days before the crime. “They came to Goa from Bengaluru to get married. But due to some unknown reason, there was a dispute between the two and two days ago Sanjay killed Roshni and threw the body in the forest,” authorities stated.

Roshni’s lifeless body was discovered on Monday evening in a densely wooded area of Pratap Nagar. Her throat had been slit, police confirmed, pointing to a gruesome act of violence.

Superintendent of Police (South Goa), Tikam Singh Verma, visited the crime scene shortly after the body was recovered. “This murder was the result of a love affair, a marriage proposal and the dispute that arose from it,” he said, summarizing the tragic sequence of events.

Following the discovery, investigators swiftly launched a probe, which led them back to Bengaluru. Within 24 hours of finding the body, police tracked down and arrested Sanjay.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated but equally harrowing incident, a 28-year-old man has also been taken into custody for allegedly killing his girlfriend after she reportedly pressured him to marry her. The man, Satish Hiremath, allegedly buried the woman’s body in an attempt to conceal the crime.

The victim in that case, 26-year-old Madhushree Angadi, hailed from Narayanapura village in Gadag taluk. Police said the couple had been in a relationship for six years before the situation spiraled out of control.

Both cases, though separate, underscore the devastating consequences of unresolved relationship conflicts — turning love into a motive for violence and leading to heartbreaking loss.
