AMU Student Dies By Suicide After Hanging From Iron Rod In Hostel Room
The university administration has informed both the police and the deceased's family, who reside in Lakhimpur Kheri district. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.

A 25-year-old postgraduate student at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Uttar Pradesh was found dead by suicide outside his hostel room on Friday, police said.
Mohammad Shakir, a first-year MA Theology student, was discovered hanging from an iron rod concealed in a corner outside his room in 'Mumbai Hostel' on the university campus, according to AMU Proctor Mohamad Waseem Ali.
According to PTI, Shakir was last seen in his room around 10 PM the previous night and had eaten his evening meal as usual. His roommates mentioned that he appeared normal before the incident.
The university administration has informed both the police and Shakir’s family, who reside in Lakhimpur Kheri district. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
Bengaluru Student Dies By Suicide After Mother Scolds Her For Using Phone
A Bengaluru girl died by suicide on Wednesday (February 12) after her mother scolded her for spending extra time on the mobile phone rather than preparing adequately for her Class 10 exams, police said.
The 15-year-old deceased identified as Avantika Chaurasia, was a resident of Assetz Marq on Whitefield-Hoskote Road and was studying at Delhi Public School in Whitefield.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield), Shivakumar Gunare, told Indian Express, “We are investigating further to ascertain other reasons, if any.”
Reacting to the incident, the Kadugodi police filed an unnatural death case and sent the body for postmortem. The police were notified about the incident around 11.30 am. Following the investigations, it was revealed that the girl’s board exams were scheduled to begin on February 15.
