AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan To Be Interrogated In 'Attack On Cops' Case On Camera

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan will cooperate with the investigation against him for alleged assault on police officers. The interrogation will be recorded on camera at Jamia Nagar police station at 5 PM.

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan will cooperate with the investigation against him in a case of alleged assault on police officers and will present himself for the interrogation at Jamia Nagar police station.

The police have installed a camera specially for the interrogation at Jamia police station. The entire interrogation process will be recorded on video. Around 4 officers will interrogate Amanatullah Khan.

A lower court on Thursday stayed the arrest of AAP's Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan till February 24. Reacting to the relief, the AAP MLA said "This is based on evidence. They are saying that I fled, while I have just come out of my house."

He further said he has been presenting himself before the court. On the poliec's allegation that he was absconding, Khan said, "Where were they looking? Did the police come to my house? I was at home. The phone they are talking about was stolen. Don't they have my complaint?"

Amanatullah Khan said, "Everything is in the court. Now, I shall say whatever I have to in the court only. I shall join the investigation at 5 PM. This is my area; I shall go by my scooter... everyone knows how the police treat me."

What Is The Case Against Amanatullah Khan?

Delhi Police on Monday registered an FIR against Amanatullah Khan for allegedly attacking a police team in Jamia Nagar. On Thursday (February 13), the court granted him relief in the case of allegedly attacking a police team on February 10.

An FIR was lodged against Khan following the incident.

The lower court on Thursday directed the police to produce all documents related to the incident before the court on February 24, besides CCTV footage. Police said that the mob led by the MLA helped an accused in an attempt to murder case escape from custody. Police said that the alleged incident took place when the Crime Branch of Delhi Police tried to arrest the accused named Shabaz Khan.
