Lost Your PAN Card? These Are The Steps You Need To Follow In Order To Get A New One

Losing a Pan Card can hamper a lot of important work. Know what steps need to be taken to get a new one.

PAN Card Lost: A PAN card is needed to conduct financial transactions, the PAN Card serves as a vital tax element and a critical ID proof that is needed especially while booking tickets and travelling through airlines or railways. Losing your PAN card can put you in a tough place but keeping a few basic details in mind, you can receive your duplicate card without and hassle.   • Request a reprint of your PAN cand by visiting the TIN website (Tax Information Network of the Income Tax Department) – tin-nsdl.com.
  • Click on the tab that says ‘Services’, from the drop-down menu click on ‘PAN’.
  • You will be redirected to another webpage which will be the online application.
  • A token number will be generated and sent to your email-id provided by you on the previous page. Note that token number for future reference and continue with the application filing.
  • Fill the necessary details in the “Personal Details’ page along with selecting the mode of submission of your PAN application form.
Following are the 3 modes available: Forward application documents physically: The acknowledgment form generated after payment has to be printed along with the copies of documents required and should be sent by the registered post to the PAN services unit of NSDL . Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-sign (Paperless): Aadhaar is mandatory for availing this option and all the details given in your aadhaar should be alone used in duplicate PAN card application. An OTP will be sent to the aadhaar registered number for authentication of details provided. There is no need to upload photo, signature, and any other documents. While submitting the final form through this option, a digital signature (DSC) will be required to e-sign the form. Submit scanned images through e-sign: Aadhaar is also mandatory for this option but you will have to upload scan images of photographs, signature, and other documents. Only an OTP will authenticate the application form. • You will have to select from an e-pan card and a physical pan card. For an e-pan, you will have to provide your email ID. • Fill details in the “Contact & other details” and also the “document details” page and submit the application. • You will be directed to the payment page and once the payment is made an acknowledgment will be generated. • Duplicate PAN card is usually dispatched within two weeks of application submission. You can check the status of the PAN using the 15 digits acknowledgment number generated. Alternatively, you can download and print the “Request for new PAN card or/and changes or Correction in PAN Data” form. • Fill the form using block letters and black ink to fill out the application. Mention your 10-digit PAN for reference. • If you an individual applicant, 2 passport size photographs is to be attached and cross-signed carefully. The face should not be covered while signing. Then, fill up all the necessary details in the form and sign the relevant boxes. • The application along with the payment, proof of identity, proof of address and proof of PAN has to be sent to the NSDL facilitation center. After receiving payment, a printed acknowledgement form is generated having a 15-digit number. • The facilitation center then sends your application to the Income-tax PAN services unit for further action. • You can check the status of your duplicate PAN card using the 15-digit acknowledgement number generated. • The duplicate PAN card will be dispatched within 2 weeks after the department receives the application.
