The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has redrawn West Bengal’s political battlefield ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. Roughly 63.67 lakh names stand deleted while over 60 lakh voters remain under adjudication, leaving their fate with judicial officers. The exercise has produced uneven effects across demographics, hitting Muslim-concentrated districts hard on one side and Matua-dominated pockets on the other.
