LIC WhatsApp Services: Steps To Check Premium Due Date, Policy Status, Loan Eligibility

Registered policyholders will be able to access the listed services on the instant messaging app from the comfort of their own homes

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has introduced a few of its interactive services on WhatsApp for its policyholders for the first time. In order to avail the listed services on WhatsApp, the LIC policyholders need to register their policies on the LIC online portal www.licindia.in.

Registered policyholders will be able to access the listed services on the instant messaging app from the comfort of their own homes.

Those who have registered their policies on the LIC portal can avail following services on WhatsApp

  • Know how much premium is due
  • Bonus information
  • Policy status
  • Loan eligibility quotation
  • Loan repayment quotation
  • Loan interest due
  • Premium paid certificate
  • ULIP-statement of units
  • LIC services links
  • Opt-in or opt out services
  • End the conversation

You can check the step-by-step guide to using LIC WhatsApp services

Firstly, send a 'Hi' to 8976862090 via WhatsApp application. Then, you will get 11 options to choose from. To select a service, reply in the chat with the option number. For example, send 1 if you want to know when is your next LIC policy premium due and how much premium you have to pay.

Also, note that you must send a message from your registered mobile number to use LIC services. If you are not registered, you must visit the LIC portal to register your policy. If you are already registered on the portal with a different mobile number, then update the WhatsApp number in the customer portal profile.

LIC is considered the oldest and largest life insurance firm managing around Rs 40 lakh crore assets and is the fifth-largest life insurer globally and the largest asset manager in the country.
