Lego Lands In India: Gurugram Gets South Asia’s Biggest Store. Here's What's Next

Lego has collaborated with Ample Group to enter India. Read on to find out which city Ample is eyeing next.

India just got its first certified Lego store, and it’s more than just bricks and shelves — it’s a 4,500+ sq. ft. universe of imagination. The global toy giant has entered the Indian market in collaboration with retail leader Ample Group, unveiling a vibrant, interactive space at Ambience Mall, Gurugram. The store promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience, blending physical and digital elements to bring Lego’s playful spirit to life.

For fans of the iconic Danish brand, this store is a dreamscape. But for Ample Group, it’s also a strategic leap. As India’s economy eyes a 6.3 per cent growth in 2025, fueled by rising consumer demand and a policy push for retail, Ample’s alliance with Lego marks a pivotal expansion into experiential retail.

The Gurugram launch is touted to be just the beginning. Ample has already set its sights on Bengaluru next, with plans to open another certified Lego store at Orion Mall. Over the next five years, the company aims to roll out 30 stores across India.

Ample’s retail roadmap aligns with its broader mission of partnering with global giants to elevate Indian consumer experiences. The company is eyeing a CAGR of over 30 per cent in the coming years, powered by such strategic collaborations.

Bhavana Mandon, Country Manager for Lego India, summed up the moment perfectly: “Today is not just about opening a store — it marks a pivotal moment in LEGO India’s journey, one that celebrates the power of play in its truest form. We’re thrilled to finally bring the LEGO brand experience to India in close partnership with the Ample Group. We’re laying the foundation for a strong retail presence and aim to help more Indians connect with the joy of play through multiple stores over the next two years. The energy, creativity, and passion we’ve witnessed today show that India’s LEGO moment has truly arrived. As we enter this exciting phase of growth, we look forward to building spaces where people of all ages can build together.”

What Would Shopping At Lego Store Feel Like?

Designed to ignite imagination, the certified store is aimed at families, children, and adult fans alike. With Lego’s focus on hands-on play and creative engagement, the store also champions learning through fun. By encouraging children to build, design, and explore, Lego offers an alternative to screen time and helps develop problem-solving and communication skills.

Ample Group, known for bringing premium global brands like Apple, Under Armour, and ASICS to Indian consumers, now adds Lego to its portfolio. Speaking on the launch, Rajesh Narang, Founder & CEO of Ample Group, said, “At Ample, we have always believed in creating meaningful experiences for our customers by bringing some of the world’s most iconic brands closer to Indian customers, be it Apple, Bose, Under Armour, ASICS, and now LEGO Group. With the launch of South Asia’s Largest LEGO Certified Store, we are not just introducing a brand but offering families a space to imagine, play and create memories together. Our goal is to deliver experiences that go beyond shopping, where every visit feels special and interaction adds value.”
