Infosys To Roll Out System Interventions, Mandates 10 Days In Office Per Month

The new policy will impact Infosys' 3.23 lakh employees at job level 5 (JL5) and below. JL5 employees include team leaders

Infosys has announced plans to update its attendance software to ensure employees work at least 10 days a month from the office. In an email sent to functional heads, the company stated that the new policy will take effect on Monday, March 10.

As reported by The Economic Times, the changes will introduce a limit on the number of work-from-home days employees can request each month.

“To support this, starting March 10, 2025, system interventions will be implemented to limit the number of work-from-home days that can be applied each month. These measures are designed to ensure compliance with the new hybrid work requirements while maintaining flexibility for employees,” ET reported, quoting the email.

The new policy will impact Infosys' 3.23 lakh employees at job level 5 (JL5) and below. JL5 employees include team leaders, while those in the ranks below are software engineers, senior engineers, system engineers, and consultants.

Hybrid Work Policy

Managers, senior managers, delivery managers, and senior delivery managers are classified as JL6 and above, though the policy does not apply to vice presidents.

Infosys stated that its hybrid work policy requires employees to be on-site for a minimum of 10 days each month.

“As you know, our hybrid work model expects employees to work from the office for at least 10 days a month, or as per business requirements, whichever is higher,” the company mentioned in an email, as per the report.

According to the report, the mobile app used by Infosys employees to track attendance will no longer automatically approve work-from-home requests. Instead, employees will be required to log 10 days a month at their designated office location, as confirmed by a senior employee to The Economic Times.

One employee was quoted as saying that the decision is more aligned with project requirements than unit-specific needs.
