Edelweiss MF CEO Radhika Gupta Outlines How Civilians Can Aid India’s Frontline Forces

Her last appeal was to follow the rules; she stressed the importance of discipline, urging citizens to adhere to rules and guidelines

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, political and business leaders are urging the public to remain vigilant against the spread of fake news and propaganda. They have emphasised the importance of verifying sensitive information through credible and official sources, cautioning that misinformation can fuel panic and deepen unrest during times of crisis.

Echoing calls for responsible civic behavior, Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, shared three key ways civilians can support India’s frontline forces during heightened tension. “In our own little ways, every citizen can support our frontline forces in these times,” she wrote.

“Spread accurate information. And if you don't have any, stay silent.  A few less What'sApp warriors hurt no one. Be a good ambassador about the country our people risk their lives to defend.  Say good things, do good things.  This is the time to be united, not critical,” she said.

Her last appeal was to follow the rules; she stressed the importance of discipline, urging citizens to adhere to rules and guidelines. “Follow the rules and uphold the discipline that our armed forces stand for. One person not following a rule makes life more difficult in already difficult times,” she noted.

Government Alert

Meanwhile, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the central government's primary media communication arm, issued an advisory urging citizens to remain alert to potential Pakistan-sponsored propaganda and misinformation, especially amid the current geopolitical tensions.

"In the coming days, your social media will be flooded with Pakistan-sponsored propaganda. It's crucial to scrutinise every piece of information carefully," it stated. "A coordinated misinformation campaign is being waged by Pakistani social media. Their objective is to sow mistrust, confusion, and panic in India. Do not fall prey to deliberately spread misinformation. Stay alert, stay vigilant!” it said.
