Adani Defence & Aerospace Inks Deal To Acquire 85.5 Per Cent Share In Air Works India
The deal worth Rs 400 crore will see the Adani company acquire the largest private sector maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company in the country
Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Ltd (ADSTL) inked a share purchase agreement to acquire a majority stake of 85.5 per cent in Air Works India (Engineering) Private Limited. The deal worth Rs 400 crore will see the Adani company acquire the largest private sector maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company in the country.
Elaborating on the deal, Jeet Adani, Director, Adani Airports said, “The Indian aviation industry stands at a transformative juncture, now the third largest globally and on track to induct over 1,500 aircrafts in the coming years. With this acquisition, Adani plans to enhance its capabilities in the defence MRO sector and strengthen its position in the airborne defence ecosystem in the country. Notably, Air Works has operations spanning 35 cities and employs a workforce of more than 1,300 personnel. The company also has an expertise in servicing both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
Adani Defence & Aerospace is a part of the Adani Group. The company is involved in the design, development, and manufacturing of state-of-the-art defence products.
