Microsoft Mobile Phones
The American multinational technology company which is the world’s largest software maker was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975. Apart from its software, it is also known for its cutting-edge products such as the Surface line-up of tablets which was launched in 2012 and Xbox video game consoles. The Redmond, Washington-based company launched its Windows Phone smartphone OS in 2010 and acquired the Devices and Services division of the Finnish corporation Nokia in 2014. Microsoft launched exclusively produced smartphones, Lumia range with Windows Phone platform in 2011. Since 2017, the company has stopped selling Lumia devices. The most recent Lumia phone, Lumia 650 Dual SIM was released in 2016. The company is planning to release a foldable smartphone, Microsoft Surface Duo in September 2020. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and runs Android 10. It will have 6GB RAM onboard with two storage options - 128GB and 256GB.
