Revolt has launched its new RV BlazeX which costs Rs 1.15 lakh. This electric motorcycle comes with a 3.24kWh battery pack which is removable and is IP67-rated. Range is rated at 150km. The power on offer is 4kv and the top-speed is 85 kph. Importantly, there is support for fast charging. Which means you can juice up the battery upto 80 percent in only 80 mins while standard charging is 3.5 hours.
The design is similar as it blends with the Revolt design language. There are two colour options including red/black and silver/black. In terms of features, there are OTA updates, LCD dash, 4G, geo fencing and more. There are three riding modes and a reverse function. We like the round LED headlamp and the muscular tank design but this Revolt has a more spacious seat now. However, the question is whether electric motorcycles make sense or not.

Well, the biggest advantage is fuel costs which are eliminated with an electric motorcycle and that lowers running costs a lot. Plus there is the ease of riding and the smoothness. However, electric motorcycles have longer charge times and the range doesn't quite have the flexibility of the ICE petrol bikes.
Electric scooters have taken off more than motorcycles while the new Revolt seems decent value although electric motorcycles are placed a bit higher in terms of overall price. Hence, as a city commuter an electric motorcycle could make sense here for the lower cost of running one with charging.
