2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Facelift India Review
At first glance, the basic shape of the Cayenne is retained though but the changes indeed are done in a subtle manner.
The Cayenne is the best selling Porsche and the most important car that they make simply because of its global sales numbers. In India too the Cayenne is very important and now there is a new one with some big updates. At first glance, the basic shape of the Cayenne is retained though but the changes indeed are done in a subtle manner. The Cayenne is always a sporty looking SUV but the Cayenne Coupe with its sloping rear view is more aggressive.
The front-end meanwhile gets new Matrix LED headlamps which look superb with the lighting pattern while the bumper is updated too along with a new bonnet.
You can customize the car as per your wish with nearly 12 colours and 24 wheel choices. The rear in the coupe has a slanting roof and the connected tail-lamp pattern is now all new as well. Size wise, the Cayenne Coupe is a big SUV and has a lot of presence. Inside, the sheer sense of quality is there is seen and that is what you can expect from a luxury SUV at this price.
New to the Cayenne is the changed control set-up for the dashboard and the key. There is a simple start/stop button now and the gear selector position has also been moved. There are three screens including a curved, 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster plus a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the centre while there is also a 10.9-inch touchscreen for the passenger.
The new Taycan-like digital instrument cluster looks great with a simple view while you can customize it as well.
Porsche has also changed the steering wheel design while despite a touchscreen, the centre gets a touch panel with physical controls for the temperature.
The design of the cabin is simple and fuss free while despite a sloping roofline, the Cayenne Coupe has a good amount of space at the rear including very good headroom. The cabin overall is quite practical.
The equipment list is huge but many are in the options list while you do get features like a four-zone climate control, heated/cooled seats for two rows, all round camera, soft close doors, Bose audio system and lots more.
Porsche has launched the new Cayenne with a single petrol being a 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 with 353hp and a standard 8-speed automatic.
For India, the air suspension has also been updated to handle our roads and it shows, Low speed ride is much less firm and more absorbent of our roads while you can further raise the ground clearance in off-road mode too.
The engine is very refined and the more comfortable ride is certainly a big plus. The engine when driven hard is sporty enough but sounds a bit muted while you can flick through drive modes on the switch on the steering wheel.
It is fast and feels quick while the highlight remains its handling and it feels much more enjoyable to drive than rivals. Priced at Rs 1.4 crore the Cayenne Coupe is expensive and a lot of the features are optional which pushes the price up however, it is a great SUV to drive and now works better on our roads.
