New 2023 Honda City Facelift Launched With Upgraded Styling And Features: Starts At Rs 11.49 Lakh

The new 2023 Honda City Facelift adds better styling, more safety features, enhanced creature comforts, and new models to choose from. The new facelifted 2023 Honda City starts at Rs 11.49 lakh.

Honda Cars India has launched the new facelifted 2023 Honda City and the City e:HEV in India today, March 2, 2023. While the facelifted 2023 Honda City lineup retains its familiar silhouette and powerplants, the ‘facelift’ adds in more sportiness, handy new features, more models to choose from, and a new exclusive paint scheme.

No mechanical changes under the skin, and the City Petrol and City e:HEV continue deriving power from their tried, tested, and reliable powertrains. However, the new City lineup is now BS-6 RDE compliant on E5 Fuel, and is also E20 material compatible. With that being said, here’s a look at what's new and what’s not in the new facelifted Honda City.

New Exterior Styling

While its proportions and design language are still unmistakably ‘City,’ teh facelift brings in better and mature styling into it. The chrome brow connecting the headlamps has gone slimmer now making way for a new sporty font grille with chequered-flag pattern. A new redesigned front bumper with smoother lines and carbon-wrapped lower moulding, and sporty new fog lamps garnishing, add a distinct sense of sleekness and elegance to the new City’s front fascia. The City facelift’s styling tweaks closely follows the lines of its larger siblings like the new Honda Civic, sold internationally.

The restyling is not is not just limited to the front though. While the tail lamp housing remains unchanged, the new redesigned bumper with pronounced creases, new trunk-lip spoiler, and new R16 dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels seamlessly compliment the new City’s sharper and sportier presence. Also new is the distinctive ‘Obsidian Blue’ colour scheme available with the refreshed Honda City lineup for 2023.

Upgraded Feature List

On the inside, the Honda City still promises one of the best space and cabin ambience in its class. Courtesy of its roomy interiors, dual-tone theme and a minimalistic cabin layout. However, the New Honda City does add some upgraded niceties in its vault for 2023. The new City Facelift 2023 adds Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Upgraded Infotainment with New Background and Colours, Remote Control Operation via Smartphone Application, Enhanced Rear Camera, Wireless Charger, PM 2.5 Cabin Air Filter, and Auto Rain Sensing Wipers into its features list.

The City eHV also gets a refreshed ornamentation on the inside. The new City e:HEV ropes in a new Carbon Fibre pattern Instrument Panel Assistant side Garnish Finish, Piano Black Surrounds on All AC Vents, Piano Black insert on the Steering Wheel. Rest everything remains the same as earlier.

Enhanced Safety Equipment

Perhaps, one of the major additions to the new 2023 Honda City lineup is the availability of ‘Honda Sensing’ with the Petrol model. Previously available with prominent international Honda models like the Pilot, Accord, Ridgeline, etc, the Honda Sensing unfolds a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure a safer driving experience. The Honda Sensing safety package brings in the following safety features:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow* (*New Introduction in City e:HEV)
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
  • Lead Car Departure Notification System (New)
  • Auto High-Beam

New Models To Choose From

The new facelifted Honda City lineup 2023 also adds in new models, enhancing its outreach to a wider range of customers. The new Honda City Petrol lineup adds in a new entry-level ‘SV’ variant, while the new Honda City e:HV brings a new ‘V’ model, slotting below the earlier ‘ZX’ trim.

Both the new models introduced in the City Petrol and City e:HV are entry-level, respectively, and are aimed at roping in new customers to the Honda City family. With the new entry-level models, the new 2023 Honda City Petrol and City e:HV start from Rs.11,49,000, and Rs.18,89,000, ex-showroom, respectively.
