As MotoGP Bharat gears up for its inaugural event, the spotlight is not only on the lightning-fast bikes but also on a fleet of high-performance BMW safety vehicles. BMW M cars and bikes have been selected as the official safety vehicles for the first-ever MotoGP Bharat event in India, featuring four new safety vehicles, including three cars and one safety bike.
Leading the pack is the BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car, boasting a robust 460 hp TwinPower turbo in-line 6-cylinder engine. This safety car is equipped with an array of essential safety features, including a roll bar, RECARO seats, a 6-point racing harness, a fire extinguisher, the distinctive safety car roof bar, and a matching front light setup. The M2 also showcases various M Performance enhancements, such as an upgraded exhaust system, chassis improvements, carbon wing mirror covers, a diffuser, and a rear wing.
The safety cars maintain the signature BMW M safety car livery, ensuring they are easily identifiable on the racetrack.

Another notable addition to the safety vehicle lineup is the BMW M3 Touring MotoGP Safety Car. This particular model is the estate version of the BMW M3 and features the eye-catching 50 Years of BMW M livery, paying homage to MotoGP safety cars from 1999 to the present day. It comes equipped with Recaro race seats, a 4-point harness, a safety crossbeam, roof lights, front flashes, an emergency disconnector, and a fuel extraction system to enhance safety and response capabilities.
The flagship safety vehicle is the BMW M5 CS, finished in a striking Frozen Deep Green metallic paint shade. This super-saloon boasts a top speed of 305 km/h and features an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, complemented by an M xDrive all-wheel-drive system that can switch to 2WD mode for added versatility.
Last but not least, the BMW M 1000 RR MotoGP Safety Bike brings safety to two wheels. It incorporates additional carbon components and has a top speed of 314 km/h.
These meticulously crafted safety vehicles will be critical in ensuring the smooth execution of practises, qualifying sessions and races, including technical test laps, during the highly anticipated MotoGP Bharat event, demonstrating BMW's commitment to racetrack safety and performance.
