Mercedes-Benz EQB Launching Soon As First 7-Seater Electric Luxury SUV In India

The EQB would be the first electric 7-seater luxury SUV in India and will open a new segment in terms of combining 7-seats along with being an EV.

New Delhi: Having just launched the EQS in India being the first locally assembled electric luxury EV, the German car-maker is not sitting still and has embarked on a launch spree with the EQB being its next product.

The EQB electric luxury SUV has been spied in India and hints at a launch soon. The EQB further expands the EQ portfolio while being the electric version of the GLB. The EQB would be the first electric 7-seater luxury SUV in India and will open a new segment in terms of combining 7-seats along with being an EV.

The spy pics do give a hint of what to expect while the EQB has a slightly different look to the GLB with an EV-specific grille and other EQ touches like different alloys. The interior design is similar to the GLA while the typical high-quality switchgear is what we can expect while the battery is placed in the floor, the EQB has squeezed out a 7-seater lay-out while the second row seats are sliding.

With the seats up, the boot space is 1320 litres.

We are yet to get the India specs of the EQB but worldwide there are two variants with dual motor layout while the battery size is 66.5kWh battery.

In India we can expect the EQB 300 which makes ample power with a range being expected to be around 400km plus. Exact details would be revealed at the launch of the EQB. Mercedes-Benz will launch the EQB in some time towards the end of the year and it will be a practical SUV which happens to be an EV.

The EQS was recently launched being locally assembled and already has had a good start with ample bookings in hand. Mercedes-Benz plans to launch more electric models as it wants to expand its buyer base for its EVs.
