Citroen Unveils Much-Awaited Compact SUV C3 For India, Here's All About Looks, Interior & More
The C3 will rival the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and more.
New Delhi: Citroen has finally lifted the covers off its much-awaited compact SUV for India. This is a crucial product for India since this would further drive the volumes for this car-maker.
Citroen, for now, has launched the C5 Aircross but this would be the model with which Citroen aims to get into the popular compact SUV space. Called the C3, it is a subcompact SUV below 4m at 3.98m - they say it is the more popular segment and it is the space that they wanted to get in.

The design looks attractive in typical Citroen form as it borrows the design principles from its bigger siblings. The front-end borrows the popular design philosophy of the split headlamp/DRL look. The massive grille is very well done with the large logo.
Like the C5 there are coloured accents all over too. The C3 has the usual SUV design traits of contrasting roof, roof-rails, side cladding and more. The rear-end meanwhile gets rectangular lamps along with dual-tone styling.
Citroen also has a high amount of personalization with many colours for the car including dual-tone ones. Overall, the India version has four body colours available (Ice White, Platinum Grey, Artense Grey and Zesty Orange).
Inside, the interior gets a funky coloured design with lots of square-like design details plus a large 10-inch touch screen. The features list includes steering controls, rearview camera, smartphone connectivity etc.
Citroen is promising space while the boot capacity stands at 315litres. In terms of engines, the C3 would be petrol only for now while the exact engine options have not been revealed yet. Citroen says that the C3 has a ground clearance of 180mm and that will be useful in tackling our road conditions. Also useful would be the aforementioned compact size at 3.98m which means it has a turning circle of 10m.
The launch will take place in the coming months (early 2022) while the high 90 per cent localisation will ensure competitive pricing. Along with that Citroen will have more dealerships across India closer to its India launch plus mobile dealerships while online sales would also be there. The C3 will rival the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and more.
