ABP Auto Awards 2024 Honour The Best Cars And Bikes Across Multiple Categories

All the vehicles were tested at ICAT- International Centre for Automotive Technology where all the cars were driven in a controlled environment to judge various attributes of the cars.

As ABP Auto Live Awards steps into its second year, we continue our motto of honouring the best cars and bikes launched in the calendar year 2023. As the Indian auto industry witnesses a paradigm shift in buyer preferences with a greater focus on safety, sustainability and technology, the new launches during the year reflected this trend, with cars getting safer and more intelligent. The onslaught of EVs also showed an increased interest in the electric car space.

Ethos

ABP Live is the most trusted digital platform and for the second edition of our Auto Awards, we picked only the best cars that have impressed us over the past year. We have also picked categories that matter to the Indian car buyer in making that informed choice while reducing clutter amongst the vast array of new cars. Our team of auto experts have evaluated and driven all the cars launched over 2023 and selected only the best few that satisfy our stringent criteria to be eligible for the awards.

Eligibility

Cars launched only in the past year and made available to private car buyers were eligible for the awards. New variants of a car launched earlier were considered only if the changes, including mechanical upgrades, were significant enough. Completely Built Units (CBU), or fully imported cars, launched in 2023 were also eligible.

Judging Process

The jury consisted of renowned automobile experts Somnath Chatterjee (automobile journalist & consultant editor with ABP Network), Jatin Chhibber (automobile journalist and anchor/producer - Auto Live), and Achintya Mehrotra (and motorsports winner), with RSM India as the knowledge partner.

Awards Show

To narrow down to the 'Car of the Year' award and the other category award winners, all the vehicles were tested at ICAT- International Centre for Automotive Technology where all the cars were driven in a controlled environment to judge various attributes of the vehicles. Being an automotive testing facility, it proved to be the perfect canvas to showcase our award winners. The judges also tested the cars in real-world conditions to judge crucial areas like fuel efficiency, ride quality and handling, and overall performance.
