Significance of Bhai Dooj and its special puja| GuruJi with Pawan Sinha
Bhai Dooj falls on the last day of the five day long celebrations of Diwali or Tihar festival. It is also celebrated as "Yama Dwitiya" in the southern parts of India. It is made up of two words namely- "Bhai" meaning brother and "Dooj" meaning the second day after the new moon which is a day of its celebration.
The festival is very similar to Raksha Bandhan, as it celebrates the love between a brother and sister. The ritual is pretty simple. The sister puts a tilak on the forehead of the brother and offers him sweets. The brothers, in return, give gifts to sisters.
