Shimla sees coldest night in 12 years
Coldwave has intensified in North India as snowfall continues in Himachal and Jammu & Kashmir. Most of the middle and high hills of Himachal Pradesh, including tourist destinations Shimla, Kufri and Manali, witnessed less than zero temperatures. The winter chill in Shimla, broke all records of past 12 years, and dipped to as low as minus 3.7 degree celsius.
A day earlier, both Shimla and Manali had received plentiful snowfall. The day's temperature in these towns stood at 8.6 degrees and 1.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
