Notice issued to 53 anti-CAA protesters in Muzaffarnagar

A panel headed by the additional district magistrate held 53 guilty of damaging public property during an anti-CAA protest in Muzaffarnagar last month, ordering the recovery of over Rs 23 lakh from them.
The notices have been sent under Section 111 of CrPC (magistrate order against any person who is likely to commit breach of peace) on the basis of a police report. If they fail to deposit the said amount then their properties will be seized.
