Wayanad Landslide Death Toll Rises To 151 | ABP News
In Wayanad, Kerala, heavy rainfall led to multiple landslides early Tuesday, resulting in at least 126 deaths and 128 injuries. By the end of the day’s rescue operations, over 800 people had been safely evacuated, but the death toll may rise as many are feared trapped under debris. The landslides destroyed homes, flooded rivers, and uprooted trees, leaving residents with no chance to escape. The army, navy, and NDRF are working in severe weather to locate victims and provide aid. Rescue operations paused on Tuesday but will resume on Wednesday. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reported that the bodies of the deceased are being identified and handed over to families. Rahul Gandhi, former Wayanad MP, might visit the affected area soon.
