Rajasthan To Attempt To Break Its Own Record In Surya Namaskar Today

Rajasthan Surya Namaskar Record: Rajasthan aims to set a new world record by having all state and private schools perform Surya Namaskar simultaneously at 9 AM.

Rajasthan Surya Namaskar Record News: Students and teachers at all schools in Rajasthan will perform the 'Surya Namaskar' together simultaneously on Monday, February 3, in an attempt to break the world record that it had set in 2024. Education Minister Madan Dilawar will lead the attempt at the record from the football ground of SMS Stadium in Jaipur. He appealed to citizens of Rajasthan to participate wholeheartedly in this programme.

According to a spokesperson, the Surya Namaskar event has been scheduled for 9 AM at all government and private schools in the state. Rajasthan is aiming to set a world record this time, with the parents and primary classes participating this time. In the previous event last year, 1.33 crore students from 78,974 schools in Rajasthan participated to set the world record. As per the minister's instructions, children from Class 1 to Class 5 will also take part in performing the Surya Namaskar this year.

Rajasthan Schools Prepared For A Week

While the younger children will perform two to three rounds of Surya Namaskar as per their capacity, others will perform 10 sets of the exercise. For this, Surya Namaskar was being taught and practised at all the participating schools in the state for a week. Students, teachers, or parents who are ill or have recently undergone a surgical procedure will not be part of it.

Minister Madan Dilawar earlier said that Surya Saptami would be celebrated every year. This year, Surya Saptami will be celebrated on February 4. But due to the birth anniversary of Lord Devenarayan on the same day, schools will remain closed. Therefore, it was decided to celebrate Surya Saptami on the morning of February 3.

Muslims Protest Surya Namaskar

Muslim organisations protested against the event, reported news agency PTI. Mohammad Nazimuddin of the Rajasthan Muslim Forum has called it unconstitutional and inappropriate. Several Muslim religious and social organisations have jointly decided to oppose the government's decision. They cited the High Court that it cannot be made mandatory, it will be voluntary. Muslim children will not do it.
