Delhi Election 2025: Raghav Chadha Defends AAP's Welfare Policies in Exclusive Interview | ABP NEWS

In an interview with APB, Raghav Chadha, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), discussed the ongoing debate about "freebies" in Indian politics, especially in light of recent elections in Haryana and Maharashtra. Chadha defended his party's welfare policies, which provide free electricity, water, education, and healthcare to the public. He emphasized that these initiatives are part of AAP’s commitment to serving the common man and that India, as a welfare state under Article 38 of the Constitution, should prioritize these kinds of public welfare programs. Chadha pointed out that in developed countries, basic services like public transport, water, and education are often free, and this investment in human resources has contributed to their progress. He also highlighted that the central government itself provides subsidies like free rations and gas cylinders, yet these are not criticized in the same way. According to Chadha, the welfare programs are crucial for India's development and should not be seen as mere "revdis" but as necessary steps towards improving the quality of life for citizens.
