Uttarakhand Tragedy: Roads Washed Away, 50+ Missing in Cloudburst Aftermath | ABP NEWS
A devastating cloudburst struck Dharali village near Harsil in Uttarakhand, triggering massive destruction and launching an intense rescue operation. Over 130 people have been safely rescued from the debris so far. Teams from the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF are working tirelessly to search for those trapped under the rubble. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is closely monitoring the situation, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured full support from the central government. PM Modi spoke with CM Dhami and emphasized that all necessary help will be extended. Rescue helicopters are being used to evacuate people from remote locations. However, operations are being hindered as roads near Bhatuwadi have been washed away, preventing rescue teams and ambulances from reaching Dharali swiftly. Soldiers and ITBP personnel are working to restore access. Reports indicate that over 50 people are still missing, including around 10 army personnel from a nearby military camp. A total of 150 people have been shifted to relief camps, where they are receiving medical aid and food supplies. With infrastructure heavily damaged and mobility severely affected, rescue efforts remain challenging. The focus remains on locating the missing and providing relief to the affected families.
