SCO Summit: India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar To Take Part In Key Summit
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO Summit 2024) in Islamabad, Pakistan, is taking advantage of his free time between official meetings to enjoy the surroundings. On the morning of October 16, 2024, Jaishankar shared a photo on the social media platform X, stating, "Morning walk with colleagues from the India-Pakistan team at our embassy compound." On the second day of the summit, which takes place at Pakistan's Jinnah Convention Center, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will deliver an inaugural speech to welcome all leaders, followed by a group photograph. After Sharif's speech, several documents will be signed during the session, and Pakistan's Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming will address the media. Subsequently, Prime Minister Sharif will host an official lunch. Representatives from India, China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the summit, along with Iran's First Vice President and Mongolia's Prime Minister. Additionally, the Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet and the Foreign Minister will attend as special guests. According to Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, today's discussions will focus on economic cooperation, trade, environmental issues, and socio-cultural relations. Leaders are expected to make significant decisions to enhance collaboration among SCO members and approve the organization’s budget.
