Red Fort Blast: Maulvi Network Under Scanner, 2 Clerics Held for ‘Doctor Module’ Indoctrination

The Red Fort car blast investigation has taken a crucial turn as agencies focus on two clerics Maulvi Irfan Ahmad and Hafiz Mohammad Istiyaq accused of brainwashing and indoctrinating young doctors allegedly linked to the terror module. One of the clerics hails from Jammu & Kashmir and the other from Faridabad. Investigators suspect that these religious figures influenced educated youth, including Dr. Umar, Dr. Muzammil, and Dr. Shaheen, by spreading extremist ideology under the guise of religious teachings. Sources reveal that the duo systematically targeted students and professionals, nurturing what agencies are calling a case of “white-collar terrorism.” Both maulvis are now at the center of the investigation, with the NIA and Delhi Police probing their meetings, messages, and financial links. The focus remains on Alfalah University in Faridabad, where several of the detained doctors studied or taught. So far, between 42 and 55 individuals including students and staff have been questioned, and five to six people have been detained for deeper interrogation. Officials say that every new layer of the probe connects back to Alfalah University and these clerics, as agencies continue to piece together the chain of radicalization that may have led to the Delhi blast plot.
