Cyclone Nivar outbreak in India can be seen most in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Cyclone Nivar has been classified as a 'severe cyclone'. According to the Meteorological Department, the speed of Cyclone Nivar has been stated to be 120 to 130 kmph. During which warnings of heavy rains and strong winds have been given. There is a ban on movement in coastal areas.
