The national capital has been declared a no-flying zone on June 9 and 10 due to the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora issued an order on Friday imposing prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, citing potential threats from criminal or anti-social elements and terrorists. "In exercise of the power conferred upon me by Section 144 of the CrPC, prohibiting flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like paragliders, para-motors, hang gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small-size powered aircraft, quadcopters, or even by parachuting from aircraft over Delhi during the swearing-in ceremony and doing so shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code," Arora stated in the order. The restrictions will be in force from June 9 to June 10, the order added.
