Mahakumbh 2025: Over 200 New IPS Officers Deployed After Stampede Incident
In response to the recent stampede incident, more than 200 new IPS officers have been assigned duty at Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj to enhance security and crowd management. On the occasion of Basant Panchami, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared images of the Amrit Snan at the sacred Triveni Sangam, extending his blessings to saints, Kalpvasis, Akharas, and devotees participating in the holy ritual.According to the Kumbh Mela administration, several bridges have been opened to ensure smooth movement of pilgrims. Bridge number 28 is now operational for travel between Arail and Jhunsi. Additionally, multiple bridges, including numbers 2, 4, 8, 11, and others, have been designated for movement between Sangam and Jhunsi, while devotees traveling from Jhunsi to Sangam can use bridges 16, 18, 21, and 24. Bridges 27 and 29 are open for travel from Jhunsi to Arail.Authorities are closely monitoring the situation through a dedicated war room, with CM Yogi Adityanath personally reviewing arrangements to prevent any further incidents and ensure a safe experience for all pilgrims.
