India lockdown: Ground report from Surat
In order to contain the virus from spreading and avoiding a crisis situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his second address to the nation on coronavirus on Tuesday night announced a pan-India 21 days lockdown. People in Surat violated the lockdown rules to buy essential required commodities. Not abiding by the government directive or making false alarm may result in imprisonment for up to one year.
