Imprisonment upto 7 years for attacking health workers: Javadekar
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar in a press conference on Wednesday that the violence against health workers will not be tolerated. An ordinance has been brought in. As per this, the guilty will face imprisonment between 6 months to 7 years. The ordinance will be implemented in an amendment to Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. Such crime will now be cognizable & non-bailable. The investigation will be done within 30 days. Watch the press conference, here.
