Deadly Landslide in Uttarakhand: One Worker Killed, Six Injured as Mountain Collapses
A devastating landslide struck the Tawaghat-Lipulekh National Highway near Najang in Uttarakhand, sending massive rocks and debris tumbling down the hillside. A recently surfaced video captures the shocking moment when the mountainside gave way, creating a scene of panic and destruction. The landslide occurred while workers from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) were taking a tea break at a nearby shop. Without warning, a cascade of stones and soil crashed down on them, leaving no time to escape. One worker, identified as a Nepalese national, was killed instantly, while six others suffered injuries. Rescue teams swiftly responded, evacuating the injured to the Community Health Center in Dharchula for urgent medical care. Authorities have urged caution in the area, as the terrain remains unstable and the risk of further landslides persists.
