Breaking: Rahul Gandhi’s Rigging Allegations Spark Sharp Rebuttal from Devendra Fadnavis and BJP Leaders
Rahul Gandhi’s recent allegations of electoral rigging in Maharashtra have ignited a strong political backlash, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis calling his claims an insult to the people’s mandate. In response to Rahul’s article accusing vote manipulation during the final hour of polling—where he claimed over 74 lakh votes were cast—Fadnavis countered that the surge was due to a rush of voters at the end and not any foul play. Writing in a Marathi daily, Fadnavis said that the Congress is unable to accept its defeat and is attacking democratic institutions like the Election Commission. He emphasized that the EC functions independently and fairly. He added that those rejected by voters should respect the verdict instead of questioning it. Union Minister Giriraj Singh also joined the attack, saying Rahul Gandhi has sensed defeat and resorted to baseless narratives. “Rahul is now a political weather scientist—declaring results before the process ends,” he mocked. The Congress party dismissed Fadnavis’s article as “full of lies,” demanding release of CCTV footage from polling stations after 5 PM. The party also raised concerns over the role of investigative agencies like ED and CBI in targeting opposition leaders.
