Breaking: EC Chief Gyanesh Kumar orders strict action over West Bengal violence

Amid rising post-election unrest in West Bengal, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has issued strict directives to curb violence and vandalism across the state. The instructions come after multiple incidents of clashes and alleged attacks on political party offices were reported from various districts, including high-profile areas such as Hogg Market. The Election Commission has ordered continuous patrolling by all district magistrates, superintendents of police, and senior officials, including the Kolkata Police Commissioner and central armed police force leadership. Authorities have been instructed to immediately arrest individuals involved in instigating violence or damaging property without delay. Reports of clashes between workers of the All India Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party have surfaced, with both sides accusing each other of targeting party offices. TMC leaders have claimed that hundreds of their offices were vandalized, while BJP has denied organized involvement and stated that strict action will be taken against any erring members. According to Election Commission officials, central paramilitary forces will continue their deployment in sensitive regions of West Bengal to ensure law and order remains intact. The EC has emphasized that no further escalation of violence will be tolerated and all incidents must be dealt with swiftly. Political tensions remain high as both parties continue to exchange allegations, while authorities focus on restoring stability in the state following the election results.
