BMC Election 2026: UBT Alliance Announcement on BMC Polls Likely Tomorrow, Seat-Sharing Talks in Final Stage
A major political development is unfolding in Maharashtra ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. Sources indicate that the formal announcement of the alliance led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray will not take place today, but is now expected tomorrow. According to sources, Uddhav Thackeray will address a press conference on Wednesday to officially announce the alliance and outline the strategy for the upcoming BMC polls. ABP News has learned that intense seat-sharing discussions are currently underway among the alliance partners. As per sources, the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) is likely to contest around 145 to 150 seats in the BMC elections. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by Raj Thackeray, may contest approximately 65 to 70 seats. Another key development is the possible inclusion of Sharad Pawar’s party in the alliance. However, sources say that there is no final consensus yet on the exact number of seats to be allocated to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and a decision is expected to be taken later today. The political landscape in Mumbai remains fluid, with alliance dynamics expected to play a decisive role in the high-stakes BMC elections.
