Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma has been summoned to appear before Bhiwandi city police in Thane district on Monday for inquiry into a matter pertaining to her controversial statement regarding the Prophet Muhammad. Recently, the row over the comments by the suspended BJP spokesperson intensified, leading to global outrage. In response to this, the party issued a statement emphasising its stance on the matter. Mumbai police also summoned Nupur to appear at Pydhonie police station on June 25 regarding the case.
