Bengal Elections: Voters Demand Change and Development in Bengal’s Key Battleground

Voting enthusiasm is clearly visible in North 24 Parganas, especially at a booth in Bidhannagar, where long queues of voters have formed since morning. In the previous election, the All India Trinamool Congress won 28 out of 33 seats in the district, while the Bharatiya Janata Party secured 5. A key contest is underway in Bidhannagar, where TMC candidate and minister Sujit Bose faces BJP’s Sharad Dutt Mukherjee. Voters expressed mixed sentiments—some demanding “change,” while others emphasized development and national progress as their priority. Interestingly, many voters, especially women, chose not to openly reveal their issues or preferences, reflecting a “silent voter” trend. Women voters are expected to play a decisive role in several seats in this phase. Overall, the atmosphere remains calm but politically charged, with high participation and cautious voter responses shaping the narrative on the ground.
