Bangladesh Violence: Nationwide Anger in India Over Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, Protests Held in Delhi

Anger continues to mount across India over the reported attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, with protests intensifying in several cities. On Wednesday, members of Hindu organizations and political groups staged demonstrations outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, condemning what they described as growing religious extremism and violence against minorities in the neighboring country. Protesters raised slogans against the Bangladesh government and demanded strict action against those responsible for the killing of Hindu youth Deepu Das, whose death has sparked widespread outrage. Demonstrators were seen holding banners and placards with messages calling for justice and protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Effigies were also displayed as a symbol of protest. Security forces deployed barricades nearly 100 meters away from the High Commission to prevent protesters from moving closer. Despite tight security, demonstrations continued, with some protesters attempting to push past barricades. Women and elderly participants were also seen joining the protest, highlighting the emotional response to the incident. Protesters alleged that incidents of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh have been occurring repeatedly, especially during religious festivals, and accused international human rights organizations of remaining silent. They called on the Indian government to raise the issue at international forums and ensure pressure is exerted on Bangladesh to protect minority communities. Authorities maintained that the situation remained under control, and security has been further strengthened around diplomatic installations as protests continue.
