Amarnath Yatra: Another batch of devotees leave from Pantha Chowk base camp with great enthusiasm
As the Amarnath Yatra proceeds, another batch of pilgrims departed on the eleventh day from Pantha Chowk Srinagar base camp amid high security on July 09. Notably, the Amarnath Yatra commenced on June 29 and will conclude on August 19. Security has been heightened for the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims along the Jammu Srinagar National highway following the terrorist attack on an Army vehicle in Badnota village of Loi Malhar area in J&K’s Billawar. CISF, CRPF, and J&K Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers along the NH44. Five Indian Army soldiers lost their lives, and five others were injured in the terrorist attack in the Machedi area of Kathua. This incident follows the Indian defence forces gunning down six terrorists in two separate encounters on July 07. Notably, J&K has witnessed numerous terror attacks since April.
