Air India AI171 Plane Crashes In Ahmedabad, Emergency Declared, Rescue Operations Underway
In a tragic development, an Air India Dreamliner (Flight AI171) en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in a major emergency situation in the city. The incident occurred near the Civil Hospital premises, causing widespread destruction and panic in nearby residential areas. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a massive fireball as the aircraft descended rapidly and broke into multiple parts upon impact.Immediate response teams including NDRF, police, fire department, army, BSF, and CISF were dispatched to the crash site. Over 70% of the area has been cleared, and most injured passengers and locals have been transported to the Civil Hospital for urgent treatment. Government and private doctors are working together around the clock to manage the influx of patients.Union Home Minister Amit Shah has departed for Ahmedabad following directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also spoke with Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Multiple ambulances and a green corridor have been arranged to ensure swift medical aid.This is the second major plane crash in Ahmedabad since 1988, marking one of the most devastating aviation accidents in recent years.
